"Women of Troy/Voices from Afghanistan" Workshop
August 2017
Brittany and her husband, Michael, team up with the Alliance for New Music-Theatre to workshop a new cross-cultural work called Women of Troy/Voices from Afghanistan to be featured in the Women's Voice's Theater Festival in early 2018. The Alliance for New Music-Theatre is the theater in residence at the Dupont Underground, an old trolley car station underneath Dupont Circle being converted to a subterranean arts space. I am excited to continue to develop this new work and follow its journey over the next few months.

"Brittany Baratz is quite strong as Mom...but what makes her memorable is her very strong and clear singing voice."
-MD Theater Guide

Singing since she's been a little girl, Brittany finds her joy in telling stories. From her hometown in Gaithersburg, MD to New York City and everywhere in between, her career has taken her to 46 out of 50 of the U.S. States and also abroad to the Spring of Culture Festival in Bahrain.
Highlights of her blossoming career include the pre-Broadway revival of The Secret Garden; working closely with American composer Robert Convery to bring his musical, Alice Adams, to life; four original works of theater with the John F. Kennedy Center's Theater for Young Audiences program; giving voice to Bernstein's Dinah in Trouble in Tahiti with the Grammy-nominated Inscape Chamber Orchestra; and working on some of her favorite musicals regionally such as A Little Night Music and Man of La Mancha.
Brittany holds a Bachelors of Music from the University of Maryland, a certificate from the intensive One-Year Acting Conservatory at T. Schreiber Studio in NYC, and studied abroad as a Young Artist with the Opera Music and Theater Festival of Lucca, Italy.
In addition to her artistic abilities, she holds a Bachelors in Marketing from the Robert H. Smith School of Business. In her spare time, she enjoys recording at her home studio, teaching herself how to play new instruments, and getting lost in a good book. She resides in New York City with her very talented husband, Michael.
